30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHERNOBYL NUCLEAR CRASH - an interview with eyewitnesses on WP

30 years ago, one of the biggest technological disasters in the world occurred - the failure of the fourth unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. As a result, more than 100,000 people were displaced from the territory of Ukraine, equivalent to the area of Luxembourg, including 50,000 from Pripyat itself, built as an example of an ideal Soviet city. Among them were Volodymyr Petrovych Nagornyak and his wife Nina Valentinovna. They both survived the disaster, the evacuation, the period of uncertainty and the collapse of all their life plans. They were able to get back on their feet again, set up in a new place and raise their children happily, and are now taking care of their grandchildren. However, they still remember in detail 26 April 1986, when they watched the power station fire from the roof of their house. You can read the entire article on WP news WP wiadomości

PRESENTATIONS AT INTERNATIONAL TOURISM Fairs (Warsaw 2016 and Wrocław 2017) under the title: ‘8 facts about Chernobyl that you might not have known’.

Is the radiation in the Chernobyl Zone dangerous? No. Almost the entire surface of the Zone is absolutely clean, with the usual background of natural radiation. The Chernobyl Zone was never 100% radioactive and its radioactivity came from microscopic dust particles scattered over the Zone during and after the accident. The short-lived isotopes have now decayed and the vast majority of the long-lived ones have been located and buried in special repositories. You can read the entire presentation tutaj

STAND AND ORGANISATION MEETING WITH ALEXIA ANANIENKA AT TT WARSAW 2019 (Warsaw 22-23 November)

At the fair we presented our offer for 2020: Chernobyl and Asia. We were assisted at the stand by Sebastian Marciak (creator of the only map of Pripyat) and Tomek Ilnicki (author of the book ‘Asylum. Zapiski stalkera’).

In addition, we organised the arrival in Poland of one of the ‘Chernobyl divers’, i.e. Alexei Ananienko, a former employee of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, who took part in the action of descending under the destroyed reactor No. 4. You can watch the meeting with Alexei on our YT account. You can find out whether Alexei would go under the reactor again and about life in Zona during the decommissioning period from two interviews that the ‘diver’ gave during his stay in the capital for the GW i Polityki.
